Garden Club Update – Meeting Saturday 17 June
Visit to Succulent Garden in Canberta and the Arboretum

We have been invited to the garden of Terry, a member of the Canberra Geranium and Fuchsia Society. Her garden shows what can be achieved when you develop a passion for a particular plant variety. In this case, Terry started, we are told, with a few succulents, and it grew from there. We will be able to see the results. This photo gives an idea of the garden. The maples will have probably lost their leaves by the time of our visit.
We are then going to go to the Arboretum to have something to eat and to do some exploring. We will have a list of places to see there.
Because it gets cold at t he Arboretum midway through the afternoon (as it is on the eastern slope pd the hill, it goes into shadow) the plan is:
10.30 – meet at CWA rooms for car pooling
11.30 – start visit to Terry’s garden
12.45ish – lunch at the Arboretum
1.30 – explore points of interest such as the Butterfly Garden, the Bonsai Garden and the Discovery Garden – see the list Gardens – National Arboretum (act.gov.au)
There is a 20 minute Welcome Walk which some of us might like to join.
